Here is a meat and tomatoes macaroni and cheese recipe, for a macaroni and cheese with all the nutrients you need to call this a full meal... more than the basic mac and cheese.

Ingredients list:

1 lb. Lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 tbsp (15 ml) butter
Salt and Pepper
1 can (28 oz, 796 ml) diced tomatoes
1 can (10 oz, 284 ml) tomato cream
1 cup mixed vegetables juice
2 tablespoons basil
1 lb. macaroni elbows pasta
1 lb. Old or Sharp Orange cheddar cheese

Procedure:

1. In a large skillet, melt butter and saute the onions.

2. Add the meat in, season with salt and pepper and cook until the meat is done.

3. Add tomatoes, add the can of tomato cream, vegetable juice and basil; simmer over low heat.

4. Meanwhile boil the macaroni pasta until about half-done, their cooking will finish in the oven.

5. In an ovenproof saucepan, mix the macaroni and meat mixture. You can use a lasagna pan with 3 liters (13x9 inches 33x22 cm).

6. On top, place the cheese cut into thin slices. NB shredded cheese does not give the same result.

7. Bake at 375 degrees F, about 30 minutes or until cheese is golden.
